More than one hundred apprentices recently attended a Graduation Ceremony at Guildford Cathedral to celebrate their outstanding achievements.
The event was organised by Surrey County Council, the Association of Learning Providers in Surrey (ALPS) and the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and was attended by families, council officials and over five hundred employers.
Jonathan Lord, the MP for Woking was the guest speaker and was honoured to be asked to speak about the outstanding achievements by the young men and women. Reference was made to the Government who are sponsoring more of these high quality apprenticeships every year.
The deputy leader of Surrey County Council, Peter Martin said “ We hope that our Apprenticeship Graduation Ceremony will help to raise the profile of apprenticeships, paving the way for a future successful career. Our ambition is for an apprenticeship graduation to become the norm for young people to achieve their career goals by going into an apprenticeship or to University, or in some cases, doing both.”
The apprentices looked very elegant in their Graduation Gowns supplied by Graduation Attire, the leading UK stockists of Adult and Children’s Gowns, Caps and Accessories to Academic Establishments, the Legal Profession and Hit Musical Stage Shows.
To see apprentices attending from many different industries was such a pleasure and the support from the families was a joy to see at the event.
